The latest one being artists Jiten Thukral and Sumir Tagra demanding that they should be given their share of credit for the hit song because they had the copyright for the expression 'Bose DK', which they had acquired for a series of paintings when they had first released in the year 2005. There was a press conference that was arranged to 'clarify' the usage of 'DK Bose', in which Aamir said that there have been creative differences and that they are happy, that they've reached an understanding. Aamir, in the defense of the artist duo, said that they did not try to arm-twist him and that he understands that they are coming from a different space. Aamir added that he was there to acknowledge the fact that they made no claim to the term 'BoseDK'. Aamir also pointed out at the painter duo stating, "They are the original BoseDKs, I am the fake one, and I'm just DK Bose."!
On the other hand, Vaibhav Gaggar of Gaggar & Associates, the firm that represented the duo, said that the artists in question have a signature trademark 'BoseDK', since almost a decade ago, so much so that, in Venice an exhibition of their BoseDK series is going on. He also added that they have told Aamir that they are not looking at monetary compensation, just a public acknowledgement that this term belongs to us, failing which, they will go to court. He also added that they were looking at three things - Trademark Infringement, Passing of Action, and Copyright Violation.
